The first full-time paid female NBA assistant coach is a former Colorado State All-American.

Becky Hammon played for CSU from 1996 to 1999. The Coloradoan reports that the 5-foot-6 guard ranks first in most categories in the Rams' record book, including 2,740 career points and making 918 field goals.

The Rapid City, South Dakota native has always seemed to be going against the grain. She wasn't drafted by any WNBA team but went on to play for the New York Liberty. She became one of the league's 15 greatest players of all-time.

In 2004, Hammon was inducted to the CSU athletics hall of fame.
