With so much negativity surrounding us right now regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, it's tremendous to see our community in Grand Junction come together and support each other.

Last night the Grand Junction City Information Facebook page let the community know about something really cool that is going to take place each Wednesday for the foreseeable future. It will be at 8 p.m. each Wednesday at Stocker Stadium and Suplizio Field as the lights will remain on at the stadium as a beacon of solidarity to signify their commitment to students and the community.

The hope is that these lights will bring hope and assurance that you are being thought of through this very difficult and unusual time we are all going through. The event is being called "Be The Light".

This supportive community event will be held each week until we return to normal activity. We will get through this together as long as we remain positive and continue to practice social distancing techniques.
