According to stories from the Washington Post and National Football Post, quarterback Tony Romo will miss the remainder of the Dallas Cowboys’ season because of a back injury.

Romo suffered the back injury in Sunday’s win over the Washington Redskins.

The Cowboys face the Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday for the NFC East title and a playoff berth. Both the Washington Post and National Football Post are reporting that Kyle Orton will start in Romo’s place for the remainder of the season and playoff action.

The Washington Post reports that the extent of Romo’s injury was revealed by an MRI earlier today, although the team has not yet provided details.
