Firefighters evict unwanted visitor from an apartment building in Avon, Colo.

This little bear decided he didn't want to mess with picnic baskets and went straight for the refrigerator.

Firefighters with the Eagle River Fire Protection District were dispatched around 4:45 a.m. Saturday Morning (April 30) on a report of a bear in an apartment living room.

Upon arrival, they found the small bear rummaging through a second-floor apartment in the Riveredge Apartment complex in Avon, Colo. The resident of the apartment locked himself in his bedroom after discovering the foraging for food.

The fire department was able to chase the bear out without incident.

The Eagle River Fire Protection District encourages residents to "keep your windows and doors secured and ensure garbage and pet food aren't left out to attract bears. Remember, a fed bear is a dead bear."
