A person with knowledge of the decision says Citadel and longtime Colorado athletic administrator Jim Senter have agreed on a deal for him to become the Bulldogs next athletic director.

The person says Senter is expected to be introduced on campus Thursday. The person spoke to The Associated Press Monday on condition of anonymity because the decision has not been publicly announced.

Senter will replace Larry Leckonby, who led Citadel athletics for six seasons. Leckonby left in May to become AD at NCAA Division II school Catawba.

The 52-year-old Senter had spent the past nine years connected to Colorado athletics, most recently as senior associate AD for external operations.

Senter was AD at Idaho State and an San Diego State administrator before moving to Colorado.
