Halloween doesn't have to be really spooky. Just adopt one of these dogs or cats, cuddle up with them, and the ghosts and goblins will all fade away.

One of the great things about pets is they don't believe in all those ghost stories. Okay, maybe a few of them. Still, a furry four-legged friend is great companionship and is one of the best deterrents of those creepy creatures of the night.

You can meet these animals, plus several more, and adopt them at Roice-Hurst Humane Society. They're located at 362 28 Road and are open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

    Damian

    1-Year-Old Boxer Mix

Damian is a well-mannered dog who loves to be with people. He is both strong and strong-willed and needs an owner that can work with Damian to make sure he continues to maintain those good manners. He will need to be an only pet and have a secure yard to play in.

    Spike

    2-Year-Old Australian Shepherd Mix

Spike is very shy when meeting new people, but he warms up quickly. He loves to play and is happy to snuggle up with you. Spike needs lots of love, attention, and patience so it may take some time for him to really bond with you. When he does, you'll be best friends.

    PyeWachet

    2-Year-Old Domestic Medium Hair Mix

PyeWachet and Houdini (shown below) were found together as strays with kittens. Both spent time in foster care raising their kittens. Now, it's time to find a permanent home. PyeWachet is very loving and likes to be around people. It's possible PyeWachet and Houdini are mother and daughter. Even if they're not, they have a wonderful bond with each other and adopting both of them would be ideal.

    Houdini

    1-Year-Old Domestic Shorthair Mix

Houdini is much more skittish and shy than PyeWachet, but she's just as loving once she gets to know you. She's also much less shy when PyeWachet is around. Their love and trust for each other will spill over into a love of their new owner. This is another reason they are a wonderful pair of cats to adopt.
