50+ Shave Heads for Cancer Fundraiser at Chatfield Elementary
This is Chatfield Elementary School's third time they've held the St. Baldrick's Foundation Rock the Bald fundraiser. St. Baldrick's aims to conquer childhood cancers and has over 1,000 head-shaving events worldwide. Almost 50 students and staff alike shaved their heads during the event.
According to Western Slope Now fourth grader at Chatfield Elementary School in Clifton, Jazzmyne Breiner, shaves her head every year. Jazzymyne doesn't want children with cancer to feel alone. Another fourth grader, Isaac Hargis, said that:
...people are shaving their heads for them [children with cancer] because they don't have a choice.
Isaac, along with other students, shaved his head for Delaney Clements, a 13-year-old who passed away from cancer in 2016. He saddened him that she suffered so much, so he shaved his head in her name.
