Brian Setzer is coming to Grand Junction, but the question everyone is asking is “who in the world is Brian Setzer?”

If you are one of those people, you have come to the right place for the answer. Once you are done with this, not only will you know who Brian Setzer is, but you will realize that you already know who he is.

Brian Setzer’s Rockabilly Riot tour is coming to Grand Junction on June 9 at the Amphitheatre at Las Colonias Park. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 16 at 10:00am. I’m telling you right now, I have a feeling this is going to be one amazing show and I’m putting it on my calendar right now.

Here are five things that tell you who Brian Setzer is.

Brian Setzer is the founder and lead singer of the group Stray Cats, a rockabilly band that started in 1979. Their most famous hit is “Rock This Town,” but they had other hits including “Stray Cat Strut”, “I Won’t Stand in Your Way”, and “Bring it Back Again.”

BSO, as it is sometimes called, is a swing and jump blues band that Brian started in 1990. It’s a 19-piece orchestra, which is also known for it’s Christmas music during the holidays.

Brian Setzer appeared in the 1987 movie “La Bamba”, the story of rock and roll pioneer Ritchie Valens. Setzer portrayed rockabilly pioneer Eddie Cochran, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.

Brian Setzer received a unique distinction on television. He is one of a few musicians to be animated on “The Simpsons.”

Brian Setzer is recognized as one of the “greatest living guitarists.”  Along with Marty Stuart, he was personally requested to induct guitar legend Chet Atkins into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
