Where to Find Grand Junction’s Best Omelette for World Egg Day
Friday is World Egg Day! If you find yourself craving a scrumptious omelette, where’s the best place to go in Grand Junction? We asked this question earlier this year, and here’s what you said.
First, let’s get to the bottom of this World Egg Day thing. According to Holiday Insights, World Egg Day is observed on the second Friday of October. How do you celebrate? Cook some eggs. For that matter, do an egg hunt. How about decorating a few eggs?
Personally, I picture World Egg Day as something that should be celebrated on a Sunday. That is the only day of the week where I typically go out for breakfast, or take the time to whip up something nice at home. Any other day, including and especially Friday, it’s a Pop Tart to go, and I’m lucky to get that.
Earlier in 2017, we asked where one could find Western Colorado’s best omelette. What started out as a short list of about ten restaurants rapidly escalated into a list of 24 local eateries. To be clear, the poll asked: “which Western Colorado restaurant offers the best omelette.” Answers such as “my mom” were not considered.
The winner, coming in with 46.4 percent of the vote: Randy’s Southside Diner – Orchard Mesa location! In the second place, Las Marias with 23.24 percent of the vote.
Kudos to our champion. Sorry, there is no prize to be awarded. You simply get to enjoy the knowledge you create Western Colorado’s favorite omelette.
Congratulation to Randy and the crew at the Orchard Mesa location of Randy’s Southside Diner. The next time you find yourself enjoying a lazy morning and looking for breakfast, check out the results of the survey and enjoy a magnificent omelette.
