More than 200 wounded or ill service personnel and veterans are competing the Warrior Games in Colorado Springs.

The annual event got underway Sunday at the U.S. Olympic Training Center and the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.

Events include archery, cycling, shooting, sitting volleyball, swimming, track and field and wheelchair basketball.

Undersecretary of Defense Jessica L. Garfola Wright formally opened the games.

The event lasts for six days.
