A few weeks ago I shared the story about the Caring 4 Carol Lynn fundraiser in Grand Junction and I want to give you an update.

Carol Lynn is the  4-year old daughter of Greg and Jody Wygans of Grand Junction. Carol Lynn is a special needs child suffering from a variety of ailments including Holoproscencephaly and epilepsy - but so much more. She also suffers from   Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy, Scoliosis, and Dandy Walker Malformation.

The house her family rents is being torn down this year, and so they need a place to move to that they can modify to accommodate Carol Lynn's needs.

Meredith Gardner, a family friend started the fundraising effort with a goal of raising the necessary funds by August. So far, the Go Fund Me campaign has raised over $3600 with a Go Fund Me goal of $175,000, and an overall goal of $350,000.

Several individual fund-raising efforts are taking place as more and more people hear about Carol- Lynn's story and the needs of her family. You can read more of the story on Carol-Lynn's website.

A fundraising dinner and silent auction has been scheduled for June 27 at the Redlands Community Center. This will be an opportunity to donate to the cause and to meet Carol-Lynn in person. In July, there will be a 5K run, walk, and roll at Sherwood Park.

It's a lofty goal, to be sure, but there is still time and plenty of opportunities to get everyone involved in some way.
