Downtown Denver is a really cool place to be and there a lot of neat things to experience including the historic Union Station.

Union Station is a hub of activity in downtown Denver featuring restaurants, bars, shops, and a hotel all housed in a building that's more than 100 years old. If you are a people-watcher, this is a great place to do it.

Additionally, Union Station is a hub for Amtrak and Denver's RTD transportation services, including bus and light rail service. That means a lot of people are hanging out there waiting for their next ride.

There's a fountain outside for the kids to run around in and in the summertime a weekly farmers market is a popular attraction.

For $20, you can enjoy a one-hour tour of the facility to learn about the history and artwork of Union Station and enjoy a complimentary beverage at the end or the tour.

When you visit Union Station you are just steps away from so many great Denver icons like Coors Field, Oxford Hotel, Lo Do, 16th Street Mall, and the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. There is just so much to see.

What you need to know, simply, is this is downtown Denver. There are lots of places to park, but you're going to pay for it. There truly is no "free ride." But, the cost really is pretty nominal, so don't let that keep you away.

Union Station is a really cool place  and just the beginning of your adventure in downtown Denver.
