Colorado Mesa University’s basketball teams will open up the regular season this weekend on the road as the Mavericks take on Chadron State and Black Hills State.

It was definitely an offensive game Saturday in Spearfish, S.D., as Colorado Mesa University’s football team defeated Black Hills State 48-31.

For the second consecutive year, Colorado Mesa women’s basketball team will play for the RMAC Shootout Championship at Brownson Arena.

Third string quarterback Jason Haferman  threw three touchdown passes, and the CMU defensive forced 8 turnovers, including 7 interceptions as the Mavericks defeated Black Hills State on Saturday 49-11 at Stocker Stadium. The Colorado Mesa Mavericks (1-2, 0-1)  have faced nationally ranked teams  on the road in their last two outings. They have played well in all three games they have played, and even had a fourth quarter lead last week against 21st ranked Chadron State before falling 30-24.
