Sports Travel Magazine Nominates JUCO For Awards

For the second time in three years, Sports Travel Magazine has nominated the Alpine Bank Junior College World Series for awards that recognize top athletic events.

Each year, Sports Travel Magazine recognizes top athletic events that range from amateur to professional, and the magazine’s readers nominate the events.

Criteria for nominations and voting include superior organization and attendance at the event, a superior experience for the competitors and/or spectators, and how the site or venue serves to enhance the event.

JUCO World Series Chairman Jamie Hamilton said he was honored that the tournament is being recognized.

The JUCO committee is encouraging fans to vote for the tournament as the best in the nominated categories. Voting is open through September 15, with winners announced at the TEAMS '14 Conference & Expo in Las Vegas in November.

JUCO is listed under two categories – one is listed under the Collegiate category for “Best Sports Event Series or Circuit,” and the other is for “Sports Event of the Year.”
