Sixers Look to Avoid History
Some of the elite NBA teams are part of the league's Wednesday schedule. And then there are the 76ers.
The 0-14 Sixers will be looking to avoid a franchise record for futility to start a season when they host Brooklyn tonight. Philadelphia is also just four losses from tying the 2009-10 Nets, who set an NBA record by beginning the season 0-18. If the losing continues, Philadelphia could break the NBA record for losses to start the season on Dec. 5 when hosting Oklahoma City.
Northwest Division-leading Portland is on an eight-game winning streak heading into their road game at Charlotte. It's the Trail Blazers' longest winning streak since stringing together 11 in a row in November of last year.
Despite the winning ways, 11-3 Portland still trails Memphis and Golden State for the best record in the Western Conference. The 12-2 Grizzlies are in Los Angeles to take on the Lakers, while the 11-2 Warriors take a six-game winning streak into their game at Orlando.
Toronto has won five in a row, as the Raptors prepare to take on the Hawks in Atlanta. Toronto is tied with Memphis for the best record in the NBA.
Thirteen games dot the NBA schedule.
