Say Goodbye to Summer With a Quick Look Around Colorado

Tomorrow is the last official day of summer and Colorado is set to start changing colors. Before saying goodbye to summer and hello to fall, take a look at these social media pics from around the state.

Depending on where you stood in the state, Colorado enjoyed a fairly decent summer. Those who fought raging fires around northwest Colorado might disagree. In any event, Coloradans had a chance to get and enjoy all the wonders our state offers. Take a little Instagram trip and take one more looks at Colorado’s summer. All of these pictures were posted within 24 hours of the last day of summer.

Holy. Schnikes. The clouds were begging for me to take their picture

Followed these two through miles and miles of aspen trees a couple weeks back. Some of these giants I couldn't even get my arms around and being in their presence is always, for me, a humbling experience. We spend the summer seeking truth and solitude in the only place I know where to find it: immersion in the wilderness. As many days as I can get. No cell or internet service, no solar chargers powering up our devices, just hard work, our thoughts, bodies, and stillness. It all makes sense out there, even when it's hard, even when it rains. This time of year I'm chasing every ounce of sunlight as I am admittedly not much of a winter person and these trails are buried for months. This weekend we watched the leaves change and the first snow in the Sangres happen. A few more good trips to come before snowfall, and from now until next summer I'll be dreaming of this. . . . . . . #alwaysgo #wildandfree #wildernessculture #wilderness #camp4collective #wander #backpacking #camplife #gregorypacks #backpackermag #aspens #colorado #trail #solitude #wildernessmeditation #rockymountains #neverstopexploring #ruffwear #allthefeels #liveauthentic #vsco #coupleswhoplaytogetherstaytogether #huffpostgram #summer #coloradosummer #endlesssummer #campvibes #rei #getoutside #forceofnature

Well, it’s going to be a while before we see these views again. Colors are changing, and temperatures are on the decline. Beautiful fall and winter images are right around the corner. In the meantime, we have to say goodbye to summer.
