The NHL announced yesterday that because of all the snow in the Buffalo area that tonight's game between the Sabres and the Rangers has been postponed. No makeup date has been announced.

The loss of that game means there are just three games on ice this evening. In Pittsburgh the Penguins are hosting the Islanders in their second meeting of the season. Back on Oct. 18 Pittsburgh skated off the ice with a 3-1 win. A year ago the Pens took three of four games between the clubs. Tonight's game is Pittsburgh's first since announcing Wednesday that forward Pascal Dupuis (doo-PWEE') will miss the next six months because of a blood clot.

The Blue Jackets are home tonight to the Bruins. This is the first of three games between the clubs this season. Boston is coming off a 2-0 win over the Blues while the Jackets were 5-0 losers to the Red Wings in their last game.

And in the final game of the night New Jersey is skating at Edmonton. This is their first meeting of the season.
