The New Britain Rock Cats are changing affiliation from the Minnesota Twins to the Colorado Rockies.

The move ends a more than 20-year affiliation between the Double-A team and Minnesota and comes in advance of the Rock Cats planned move to Hartford in 2016.

Rock Cats Managing Partner Josh Solomon confirmed the change Wednesday afternoon in a statement that said the team was excited to partner with the Rockies.

It is the second time Colorado has had an Eastern League affiliate in Connecticut. They were the parent club of the New Haven Ravens from 1994 until 1998.
