Powderhorn Resort will be the site of the New Belgium Brewing Gears and Beers event July 30.

Bikes and beer will be the attraction when bikers and beer drinkers gather on the mountain for a day of biking, beer tasting, and live music.

For those that are new to mountain biking, a clinic is being held at 10:00AM to get them more comfortable on a mountain bike and to fine tune their skills.

In the absence of snow, Powderhorn has been far from dormant this summer with mountain bikers anxious to sail down the new trails on the mountain.

Free camping is being offered for Gears and Beers and pan fires will be allowed for campers in the parking lot.

Live music is being provided by Ruby Horsethief, Bicycle Annie, and Shaun Ray.

For $20 you get five cards to use to pay for beer, and to enter drawings for prizes from vendors - including a new bike from New Belgium.  That's pretty exciting right there!

I've never done any mountain biking, but the more I hear about what's happening at Powderhorn, the more appealing the idea seems to me of rolling down a mountain on two wheels.
