It's great news for Western Colorado skiers. The Flat Top Flyer is open and Powderhorn Mountain Resort resumes it's seven-days-a-week schedule today.(Jan 25)

It's amazing what a significant impact a little snowfall can have on such a large number of people. Considering the shortage of snow so far this winter, it hasn't taken much to make a lot of people very happy.

More than a foot of snow fell on the Mesa over the weekend prompting Powderhorn to announce the resumption of it's 7-day a week schedule. That means those going uphill or downhill will be heading to the slopes to enjoy powder and packed/powder conditions on a 26" mid-mountain base.

Powderhorn says the mountain is in great shape for skinning, but be on the lookout for early season obstacles.

Beginning today the Flat Top Flyer will be operating 9am-4pm seven days a week. Though the terrain is still limited, additional trails will be opening.  We still could use a lot more snow!

But, for now, western Colorado skiers, go forth and conquer the mountain.
