The NFL's holiday schedule gets going with a pair of games today and tonight.

Philadelphia visits Washington in a key battle for the Eagles, who trail in the race for the NFC East lead. Philadelphia has dropped its last two games, including last week to Dallas. That put the Eagles a game back of the Cowboys for the conference lead. In the Redskins Philly gets an opponent that has lost six in a row and goes into the game 3-12. Robert Griffin III returns as Washington's starting quarterback in the team's fifth change at that position this season.

San Diego is facing a "must win" situation when it visits the 49ers tonight. The 8-6 Chargers are on the periphery of the AFC playoff picture and not only need to win out, but have to get some help to grab a wildcard spot. Things have fallen apart for the 7-7 49ers, who are out of the postseason derby. They've lost three in a row.
