Western Colorado is the greatest place to get outdoors, and that's why you need to head out to the Outdoor Heritage Days in Palisade this weekend.

Celebrating the great outdoors, Colorado Parks & Wildlife is hosting their 8th annual Outdoor Heritage Days at Riverbend Park in Palisade this Saturday, April 25.

This free family-friendly event provides kids of all ages the opportunity to explore the great outdoors. Toss a line in the drink and reel in a big one, show off your Robin Hood skills at the demo or channel Annie Oakley at the shooting range and much more for the nature enthusiast.

Who knows, you could walk away with a prize. And the first 1,000 youth will receive a free fishing pole.

Free hot dogs will be served for lunch served from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. First come, first served.
