The annual Sharefest in Grand Junction is happening this weekend, April 23 and 24.

Sharefest is all about neighbors helping neighbors and a feel-good feeling for the givers and receivers alike.

Hundreds of people will be chipping in to provide assistance to those in need of a variety of services from yard work, to clean up and repairs.

Since 2008, volunteers from various churches in the Grand Valley have come together each year for two days of community service.

The list of needs on this year's list is long and includes:

  • Roof repair
  • Repair leaks
  • Install window air-conditioning unit
  • Lay tile
  • Build Ramp
  • Paint
  • Yard Work

If you would like to get involved in this year's sharefest and work as a volunteer for a few hours just go the Sharefest Website to sign up. Volunteers of all ages are welcome regardless of your church affiliation.

Sharefest is just one of the reasons why Grand Junction is such a great community.
