Man Dies After Being Hit by Train Near 32 Road

A man is dead after being hit by a train near the 32 Road overpass in Clifton.

Initial reports say the accident occurred on Monday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m. when a freight train struck the man causing fatal injuries.

It is unknown whether the man was walking along or attempting to cross the tracks when he was hit. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of relatives.

The Mesa County Sheriff's Department says this is an open investigation and they are unable to release any additional information at this time.
