Part of fall yard work includes raking leaves and pulling up vegetable plants and flowers that have died after a good frost. You can learn how to make those materials useful for next season by attending a Backyard Composting lecture.

The Backyard Composting lecture is one in a series of lectures titled Caring for All Creation.

The composting lecture will teach you how to compost at home and give you the opportunity to recycle and reuse organic materials you may otherwise just dispose of.

Barret Jensen, Solid Waste Director, Mesa County Solid Waste Management is presenting information that will teach you the simple ways to make backyard composting easy and useful.

The lecture is on Tuesday, October 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Church of the Nativity located at 2175 Broadway in Grand Junction. Coffee and appetizers will be available beginning at 6 p.m. For more information call 970-462-6892.
