Would you like to show your holiday spirit by riding in Grand Junction's annual Parade of Lights? It's fun, and there are tons of prizes to win. Here's how you get registered.

Last year's parade was named "Best of the West for Family Events" by the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel. The parade brings out people by the thousands, and over a hundred entries.

Would your organization, business, or team like to enter a float in the parade? This awesome event is coming up December 3 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. It's easy to do.

This year's theme is "Christmas on the Silver Screen." You can enter your float in the following categories:

  • Performance (band, dance, musical) –  Prizes = 1st $100, 2nd $75, 3rd $50
  • Youth (Girl/Boy Scouts, Partners) – 1st $100, 2nd $75, 3rd $50

Early registration fee is $25 per entry through November 30. Late registration fee is $30 from December 1 through 2. Registration fees are non-refundable. Participation is limited to the first 120 entries. You will be contacted by December 2 with information regarding your placement in the parade.

Please note: Your float CANNOT contain a Santa Claus. As we all know, there is only one Santa, and he is already signed up to ride in this parade.

Riding in this event is FUN! You'll have a great time putting your float together, and even more, fun showing it off. BE CREATIVE! This year's theme is a doozy, so they sky is the limit.
