The Grand Junction Rockies are still in need of local beds, host families to house Rockies' players during the upcoming season.

Host families provide a place for a GJ Rockies' player to hang his hat during the season while the team is at home. Oh, and not just his hat, but a place for him to sleep during homestands.

Most of the players have been placed with hosts families, but the Rockies remain 7 beds short of having all of their players taken care of.

For people that have that extra bedroom to accommodate a baseball player, it's a great opportunity to forge a relationship with an aspiring athlete. I have a feeling that host families also get tickets to the home games.

The Rockies are on the road for half the season, which means host families are responsible for about 45 nights.

If you are interested in being a host family for the Grand Junction Rockies and giving a  young player a place to hang his hat, contact the Rockies front office at 970-255-7625 or Tim Ray at 970-250-2057.
