The Grand Junction Police Department is searching for the driver and vehicle involved in a hit and run accident that sent a woman to the hospital Thursday night.

The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. on 20th Street near Walnut Avenue. According to police, the woman was standing between two vehicles helping jump-start one of them, when the driver of another vehicle crashed into one of the cars pinning her between the vehicles

Police have identified the vehicle involved in the hit and run as a stolen green Chevy Tahoe and are asking anyone who sees a vehicle matching that description to call them.

The condition of the woman taken to the hospital is not known at this time, but it is believed her injuries are not life-threatening.
