Western Colorado's Joker and Nero, two K9s with the Grand Junction Police Department, will participate in a free public event this weekend. Bring the entire family to Fruita this Saturday (April 9) and see them in action.

Make your way to Fruita's Little Salt Wash Park at 651 Pine Street and check out the Colorado Police Canine Association demonstrations. There will be a K9 agility course and various activities. The event gets underway Saturday morning at 10.

Have you ever wondered what Joker and Nero do during a 'typical' day at the office? As K9s, their jobs include a number of tasks such as sniffing for drugs, searching for lost people, building searches, and from time to time, biting a bad guy.

Check out this free demonstration. Everyone is welcome. This is your chance to meet both Joker and Nero and get an idea of what a day on the job is like for these K9 officers.
