Germany to Bid for 2024 Olympics
The German Olympic Committee says either Berlin or Hamburg will bid to stage the 2024 Games.
The committee decided at a meeting on Tuesday to present a bid and will now hear proposals from both cities before selecting a candidate in March next year.
If the bid for the 2024 Olympics in unsuccessful, Germany will then bid for the 2028 games.
Germany last hosted the Summer Olympics in 1972 in Munich, marred by a terrorist attack on Israeli athletes.
