Grab Your Rod: 3 Freshly Stocked Lakes in Western Colorado
Grab your fishing rod because these lakes in Western Colorado were just stocked this month. Now that you've got your rod and your place to fish -- ready, set, cast.
The Parachute Pond State Wildlife Area takes up about 26 acres. There's even a fishing pier here. Parachute Pond has rainbow as well as cutthroat trout. The pond was just stocked on April 10. Parachute Pond is conveniently right off of I-70.
There are lot of trails here at Rifle Lions Pond. There's paved and gravel trails and the trails connect the pond to the Colorado River. There are all types of fish here include bass, carp, bluegill, green sunfish and of course, trout. Rifle Lions Pond was stocked on April 10 as well.
It looks like you'll have your rod full here at Harvey Gap Reservoir. The reservoir stocked on April 8 and has a lot of different species for you to fish. There's two different kinds of bass, catfish, crappie, perch, pike, tiger muskie, blue kill and rainbow trout. Some of these fish are on my 'Colorado Fish Wishlist' so I'll definitely be making a trip here.
