The Giants try to regroup tonight after being swept at home by the archrival Dodgers over the weekend.

San Francisco is 1 1-2 back of NL West leading LA heading into the opener of a series against Pittsburgh. Facing one of the best rotations in baseball, the Giants were outscored 17-4 in the weekend series. They have now lost 19 of their last 25.

The Dodgers have the day off.

The Padres and Braves get the major league schedule off to an early start with an afternoon affair in Atlanta. Converted outfielder Jason Lane makes his major league debut on the mound for San Diego. Atlanta heads into today's play just a 1 1-2 games back of Washington for first in the NL East.

The Nationals open a series in Miami.

NL Central leading Milwaukee travels to take on Tampa Bay in a series opener. The Brewers send 11-4 Kyle Lohse (LOHSH) out to take on one of the hottest teams in the major. Tampa Bay just had a nine-game winning streak ended yesterday, but is 27-12 since June 11.

There are just ten games on the major league schedule.
