The Grand Valley is currently experiencing freezing rain making travel on the roads nearly impossible. Due to this, District 51 Schools is releasing elementary schools early.

According to the District 51 website, "Today, Jan. 9, 2017, all District 51 elementary schools will release early, at 1:50 p.m., due to weather conditions."

This includes Dual Immersion Academy and New Emerson.

If your child is currently at home, please keep them home if you are able.

Busses will pick up students at 1:50 p.m., there may be delays, so parents should check the SafeStop app to find the location of your child’s bus.

If parents can't be home to meet their child due to the early release, they should call the school and they'll keep the child until you are able to pick them up.

High schools and middle schools will release at their regular time. All Career Center, Western Colorado Community College, and Valley School buses have been canceled.
