The list has been narrowed, and Denver survived the cut and remains on the list of possible cities to host a second Amazon headquarters.

Denver is one of 20 cities still being considered as a possible site for a $5 billion dollar facility that could feature 50,000 Amazon employees.

You might be surprised to learn that Amazon has been around since 1994 when it started as an online bookstore. The company employs more than 300,000 people worldwide.

The list of cities has been narrowed from the 238 proposals initially presented to Amazon. The list of remaining candidates includes Boston, New York, Chicago, Toronto, and Los Angeles and some smaller cities including Columbus, Nashville, and Indianapolis.

Amazon is expected to make a final decision later this year.
