Criminals who may have been looking to stock up on guns and ammunition found just what they wanted when they burglarized a home in Fruita.

The Fruita Police Department is attempting to locate the people involved in a heist that happened on Thursday, September 13, between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. at a home in the 300 block of North Coulson Street.

The burglars took two Remington Arms rifles, a Winchester rifle with a gold plated trigger, a Stevens Arms rifle, a Savage Arms rifle, a Beretta pistol and four Ruger pistols.

The thieves also stole several boxes of ammunition. The value of the firearms and ammunition stolen is estimated to be over $5,600.

All reports to Crime Stoppers are completely anonymous. If the information given leads to an arrest, the person providing the information is eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
