A woman using a counterfeit bill to purchase items at a Grand Junction is one of several attempts over the last few months to pass counterfeit money around town.

The fake $50 bill was used on January 24 to purchase cigarettes at the Smoker Friendly Orchard Mesa location at 2692 Highway 50.

Security cameras at the store have identified the the woman as a white female approximately 45 to 55 years old, 5-foot 5-inches to 5-foot 10-inches tall and weighing 185 to 200 pounds.
