Colorado Mesa Women’s Basketball Ranks Eighth in National Preseason Poll

The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) released its preseason national poll on Tuesday, and Colorado Mesa University is ranked eighth in the poll to begin the season.

The Mavericks finished last season ranked fourth.

West Texas A&M is the preseason top ranked team in the country. West Texas A&M was the national runner-up last season and ended Colorado Mesa’s season in the NCAA South Central Region Championship game.

Colorado Mesa has already started the new season with two exhibition games this week. On Monday, the Lady Mavericks defeated Utah Valley University 67-61, and then lost to Division I team Southern Utah University 98-59 on Tuesday.
