Colorado Mesa University’s volleyball team traveled to Denver this weekend to compete in the Colorado Premier Challenge at Regis University. The Lady Mavericks split their four games this weekend, including upset wins over #5 Central Missouri and #10 Southwest Minnesota State.

During Friday’s matchups, Colorado Mesa defeated #5 Central Missouri in straight matches (25-22, 25-22, 25-22). Then later in the day, the Mavericks lost to host team Regis in 5 matches (22-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-23, 22-24).

Colorado Mesa started Saturday’s action with a win over #10 Southwest Minnesota State in four matches (24-26, 25-22, 25-22, 25-21), and then went on to lose their last match of the tournament to #1 Concordia-St. Paul (25-22, 16-25, 19-25, 11-25).

In other Colorado Mesa sports action this weekend, the Mavericks women’s soccer team lost a pair of games in Dallas. The Mavericks were shutout by Dallas Baptist University 2-0 on Thursday, and then losing Saturday against Angelo State University 4-1.

Colorado Mesa men’s soccer team traveled to Billings, Montana for a pair of games. The Mavericks defeated San Francisco State University 1-0 on Friday. CMU’s second game is scheduled Sunday afternoon against Montana State University-Billings.

Colorado Mesa’s women’s rugby team also has a game Sunday afternoon against Colorado College at Dixson Field in Grand Junction.
