The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) released its annual Preseason Coaches Volleyball Poll on Monday (August 18), and Colorado Mesa University was ranked second in the RMAC.

The Lady Mavericks received three first place votes and finished 10 points behind preseason favorite Colorado Mines, who led all RMAC schools with five first place votes.

Rounding out the top five were Regis University, Metro State College and Colorado Christian University.

Colorado Mesa’s volleyball team finished the 2013 season with a 21-8 record. The Lady Mavs will open the 2014 season September 6 when the team travels to Canyon, Texas to compete in the West Texas A&M Lady Buff Classic.
