A man who stole a moped parked on the Colorado Mesa University campus may not have realized they are not amphibious vehicles.

Crime Stoppers of Mesa County reports that the person pictured stole a Honda Metropolitan moped from a bike rack on the CMU campus. The moped was later recovered after being found submerged in a campus water fountain.

The moped maniac struck sometime between 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 29 and 8:50 a.m. on Sunday, April 30. Estimated loss and damage exceeds $2,200.
