The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) on Tuesday released its weekly standings for college soccer. Among the standings, a player for Colorado Mesa University’s men’s soccer team has been named RMAC Defensive Player of the Week.

CMU senior Oliver Querin received the honor of being the Defensive Player of the Week. Querin was considered instrumental to the Maverick defense in the team’s two shutout wins over the weekend, which included Querin scoring the winning goal in Friday’s 1-0 win over No. 7 Regis.

Also on Tuesday, the RMAC released its All-Academic teams in both men’s and women’s soccer. To be eligible for the all-academic teams, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.3 GPA, be a starter or key reserve, and have completed two semesters at the respective schools.

Based on the criteria, three Colorado Mesa players are listed on the RMAC All-Academic First Teams.

On the women’s side, Marie Dreher was selected to the All-Academic First Team. Dreher maintains a 4.0 GPA while earning a degree in Exercise Science.

Sean Foster and Stan Schrock were both named to the men’s First Team. Foster is maintaining a 3.89 GPA while earning a degree in Finance & Entrepreneurship. Schrock is a journalism major with a 3.84 GPA.

In addition, Colorado Mesa has ten women players and six men players who have made the RMAC Academic Honor Roll.
