For the first time ever, the Colorado Mesa University men’s soccer team has earned the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season championship.

The Mavericks earned the title Sunday after defeating Adams State 3-0, and combined that win with Regis’ loss to Colorado Mines.

Some interesting tidbits about the men’s soccer team – Sunday’s win over Adams State gave Colorado Mesa ten wins in a row and the team’s seventh straight shutout. During this winning streak, the Mavericks outscored their opponents 17-2, and in the shutout streak Colorado Mesa outscored their opponents 12-0.

By winning the RMAC regular season championship, Colorado Mesa will now host the RMAC semifinal and RMAC championship matches scheduled for November 7 and November 9 at Walker Field.

In the meantime, Colorado Mesa has two more games left in the regular season. The Mavericks will travel to Denver to take on Metro State on Friday and Regis University on Sunday.
