Colorado Mesa University’s men’s soccer team scored their winning goal with just seconds left of regulation for a 1-0 win over Colorado Christian Sunday.

The win, coupled with Friday’s 2-1 win over #12 Metro State, gives the Mavericks four straight wins and improves their record to 7-2-1.

The Mavericks are currently in a four-way tie for first place with Regis, Fort Lewis, and Colorado Mines.

CMU’s women’s soccer team did not fare as well. The Lady Mavs played to 0-0 tie in double overtime Friday against Western State Colorado, and in their game Sunday against Colorado-Colorado Springs, the Lady Mavs had a 1-0 lead going into the last 8 minutes of regulation when UCCS scored two goals in four minutes. The Mountain Lions won the game 2-1.

The next game for CMU’s women’s team is 7:00 p.m. Friday against Colorado School of Mines, and next game for Colorado Mesa’s men’s team is 4:30 p.m. Friday against Regis. Both games will be at Walker Field, 12TH Street and Orchard Avenue in Grand Junction.
