Website WalletHub says Colorado is the least obese state in the country!

First, WalletHub calls themselves "the first-ever website to offer free credit scores and full credit reports that are updated on a daily basis." I'm not sure what that has to do with a healthy lifestyle but these guys did do a pretty extensive study on the current American obesity situation. They used three determining factors, Obesity & Overweight Prevalence, Health Consequences, and Food & Fitness. We've seen these kinds of fitness ratings before and Colorado is always at or near the top.

In WalletHub's article entitled "2018's Fattest States In America," Colorado is at the bottom of the list as the "least fat" and therefore the healthiest state in the nation. Not surprising, with thousands of hiking and biking trails plus seemly endless scenic beauty, it's here that the outdoors and exercise reign supreme earing Colorado the #1 state for health and fitness.

Unforchantly for most of the country, fat is the new normal. The report says that more than 7 in 10 US adults 20 years of age or older are either overweight or obese. It's not only a bad diet but the lack of activity that's contributing to the problem. The report goes on to say that over 82 Million Americans 6 and older were completely inactive in 2017.

So who are the "Fattest States In The US?" That would be Mississippi. With a score of 72.97, they rank at the top of the list. West Virginia came in a close second at 70.14. By comparison, Colorado scored a 44.35 and was best in the "Obesity & Overweight Prevalence" ranking.

So there you have it, Colorado it the healthiest state in the nation. Living here you almost feel obligated to be fit. I mean who wants to stay indoors and watch TV?  You know it's been a while, I'm feeling a hike coming on. See you on the trail.
