Cedaredge Man Caught with 515 Pounds of Weed in Nebraska
A 69-year-old Cedaredge, Colo. man will spend up to 36 months in Nebraska prison after being caught with 515 pounds of marijuana.
Steven McElmury of Cedaredge was sentenced to 18 to 36 months in prison for possession of marijuana for sale. He was caught with 515 pounds of pot.
On January, 21, McElmury was pulled over going eastbound on I-80 near Lincoln. A drug dog on the scene signaled to officers there were drugs present. Upon searching the vehicle, officers found the weed in heat-sealed pouches packed in four boxes, four duffle bags, and a tote.
According to the Lancaster County Sheriff, the resale value for the marijuana is roughly 2.5-million dollars.
Next time, maybe he'll leave the weed where it's legal.
