Astros Manager Fired

The Houston Astros announced Monday that the club has fired manager Bo Porter.

According to a story released by ESPN, Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow says the decision wasn’t based on Houston’s record, but because the team needed “a new direction in our clubhouse.

Bench coach Dave Trembley was also released from the team.

ESPN reports that Tom Lawless will step in as interim manager and Adam Everett will take over the bench coach duties.
