The Colorado Mesa Women's basketball team has won 45 straight games at Brownson Arena. This weekend, that home court winning streak is at risk as the Mavericks host Metro State and Regis.January 28, 2012 was the last time the CMU women lost a home game. Their opponent that night was none other than the Metro State Roadrunners, who would go on to knock the Mavericks out of the RMAC shootout that season and ultimately advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. The Mavericks have won the last two meetings between the teams, including a 66-63 win last year in Denver.

The Mavericks are 12-3 overall and 9-2 in the RMAC, one game behind first place UCCS. Metro State is at 10-5 overall, 7-4 in conference play.

The Mavericks sank Western State last weekend 73-45 in rebounding from a loss against first place UCCS.

On Saturday night, the Mavericks will take on Regis, the only team in the RMAC to defeat UCCS so far this season. So if the Mavericks do survive the Roadrunners on Friday, it won't get any easier on Saturday if they want to extend their long home-court winning streak.

CMU Head Coach Taylor Wagner is in his third season with the Mavericks - and has not lost a single game at Brownson Arena.

Women's action begins at 5:15 both Friday and Saturday and Brownson Arena. You can catch all the action on ESPN Radio 1230 and on-line at 1230espn.com.
